Udhampur :- In a significant operation, Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur Police conducted a major drug seizure at the Jakhani Check Naka on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police team intercepted a truck with registration number HP 73 B-2204 traveling from Kashmir to Himachal Pradesh. During a thorough search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered and seized 211 kilograms of Bhukki (poppy straw) hidden within the truck.
The police immediately arrested the truck’s driver and impounded the vehicle at the spot. This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in the region. The authorities have registered a case and initiated further investigations to uncover the broader network behind this drug transportation attempt.
