Following retirement of J&K DGP Dilbag Singh on month end, the Home Ministry has ordered Special DG (CID) RR Swain to take over additional charge of DGP on 1 November.
Dilbag Singh had the longest tenure as DGP of J&K. He is credit for having professionally and effectively tackled terrorism in J&K.
The Home Ministry has ordered; “With the approval of competent authority, RR Swain, presently posted as special DG CID, J&K, will also function as in-charge DGP in addition to his existing charge with effect from 1 November and until further orders”.
