After nearly a year of relentless operations in the rugged heights of Kishtwar, security forces have eliminated all seven terrorists in the Chatroo area following sustained joint action, officials said.
The high-altitude operation, carried out over 326 days in extreme cold, wet and freezing conditions, saw troops tracking militant movement across difficult terrain and making multiple contacts.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force, based on a well-coordinated intelligence grid established by civil and military agencies.
Officials said advanced technology — including FPV drones, satellite imagery, RPAs/UAVs and secure communication systems — was extensively used to track and locate militants during the prolonged operation.
The sustained pursuit culminated in the elimination of militant Saifullah along with his associates in Chatroo, marking a major operational success in the region.
Army Commander Pratik Sharma complimented the troops for their swift and precise action during Operation TRASHI-I in Kishtwar. He lauded the commanders and personnel on the ground for their persistence, courage and professionalism while operating in challenging weather and terrain.
Officials said the operation highlights the effectiveness of coordinated intelligence and sustained ground action in counter-terror efforts across remote mountainous areas.
