The Railway Protection Force of Jammu Division has done commendable work in the year 2026 under the special campaign “Nanhe Farishte” being run for the safety and protection of children.

Talking about “Operation Nanhe Farishte”, it is a humanitarian initiative of Indian Railways and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Under this, children who are separated from their families, lost, or have run away at railway stations and in trains are traced and safely handed over to their parents or guardians.

Under this campaign, during the year 2026, a total of 34 minor children who were separated from their families or were lost were safely rescued from various railway stations and trains in Jammu Division. This includes 24 minor boys and 10 minor girls.

After providing immediate care, safety, and food, all the rescued children were presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) as per rules. After completion of the legal process by the CWC and verification of their identity, all the children were safely handed over to their parents.

Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar expressed happiness over this achievement and said, “The work done by the RPF personnel of Jammu Division under the ‘Nanhe Farishte’ campaign is highly commendable. The priority of Railways is the safety of passengers, especially children and women. We will further strengthen such campaigns in the future so that no child remains unsafe in railway premises.”

This effort of the Railway Protection Force aims to ensure that no child remains unsafe in railway premises. Under the “Nanhe Farishte” campaign, RPF personnel are continuously patrolling stations and are ready to help needy children.

This campaign plays a significant role in protecting children from falling into the clutches of traffickers, criminals, and bad company.
