Offline classes in J&K schools to resume soon? This is what we know

While the official records claim that the number of Coronavirus patients have substantially decreased in the Union Territory, parents are concerned whether the schools in J&K will open soon or not.

The government had ordered schools to conduct only online classes after the Covid situation in J&K went out of control and cases started to pour in.

The authorities said it had already started community classes in the rural areas that did not have access to online classes.

According to Kashmir Monitor, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tasaduq Hussain Mir online classes in valley will continue.

“There is no such order in this regard so far. We have already started community classes in all the rural areas of Kashmir valley that did not have access to online classes,” Mir told.

Mir clarified the stand of School Education Department when rumours started to afloat social media regarding opening of schools.

Mir said the decision to resume regular classes will be taken by the steering committee headed by the chief secretary. “The committee takes a call after they get feedback from the field and different agencies,” he added.

Schools in Jammu are closed for summer vacation.
