Jammu and Kashmir administration appointed former head, Power Grid Corporation of India, Dr R P Singh as full time Executive Chairman and Director on the Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Ltd (JKPCL). He has been appointed for three years, a service that can be extended by two more years.
For the very first time an engineer will be heading J&K’s power Generation Company who has never served any of the departments in J&K. Total remuneration of Dr Singh has been fixed as Rs 7 lakhs per month including allowances.
As per reports, he will directly report to the Lt Governor of J&K UT through the Power Development Department regarding his duties.
