On Thursday, security personnel arrested four terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pampore and Sopore region. Two of these terrorists were working with infamous terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Adnan Ashiq War of Sopore and Zubair Ahmad Sofi of Baramulla were arrested in Sopore region in north Kashmir. They were apprehended at a checkpoint at Chinar Crossing after acting suspiciously and attempting to flee the area.
According to a police official, the militants were captured at the checkpoint by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Rashtriya Rifles (22RR), and Central Reserve Police Force (179 Battalion). They were found to be in possession of two pistols, two magazines, and fourteen pistol rounds. The spokesperson further stated that the pair was waiting for a chance to launch terrorist activities on security agencies and the general public.
In Pampore, a mixed police-army team nabbed two “hybrid” militants with four pistols.
The Srinagar Police tweeted that two hybrid-terrorists have been apprehended by a joint team of Srinagar Police and 50RR. The terrorists have been identified as Faizan Rashid Teli of Kadlabal Pampore and Naveed Shafi Wani of Khrew Pampore. Additionally, police have seized weapons, ammunition, explosives, and evidence material from them. The tweet stated that four pistols, bullets, sixteen gelatin sticks, and a grenade have been recovered from them.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mehboob ul Inam, a “hybrid” militant, was apprehended by the police in the Bandipora area of north Kashmir. As a result of his disclosure, the police also found weapons, ammunition, and supplies for building IEDs.
The police had tweeted that his admission led to the recovery of incriminating materials, weaponry and ammunition, including three AK rifles, 10 magazines, 380 rounds, and a Chinese grenade.
