What is causing rains in Bangalore? Schools shut as city grapples with downpour

The city of Bengaluru also called Bangalore by many witnessed incessant rains on Tuesday which are predicted to continue till October 18. Schools were ordered to remain shut as the infrastructure in the city grappled with the downpour.

The weather department issued an orange alert for the residents of Bangalore after it was predicted that there will be more rains in the coming two days.

However many people questioned as to what was the cause behind the rains in Bengaluru or Bangalore.

The weather department has clarified that the northeast monsoon which is causing rains in Chennai is the reason behind rains in Bangalore. This is also called as the spillover effect of the monsoon in Chennai.

As the city roads in Bangalore are filled with potholes and there was no drainage of water, the authorities were forced to shut the schools for the safety of the children studying in different schools. The colleges will however remain open.

The schools have been asked to conduct online classes so that students do not suffer in their syllabus.

Areas in Varthur, Hebbal, Kadubeesanahalli in Bangalore witnessed traffic congestion due to heavy downpour.
