Poonch :- A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir when an Indian Army vehicle plunged into a 350-foot deep gorge.
At least five soldiers have lost their lives in this unfortunate accident, while several others are reported to be injured.The exact number of soldiers on board the ill-fated vehicle is yet to be ascertained.
According to initial reports, the accident took place in the Balnoi area of the Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district.As soon as the news of the accident broke, Army officials rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
The injured soldiers were evacuated to a nearby hospital, and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.The Army vehicle was reportedly en route from the 11 MLI Neelam headquarters to the Balnoi Ghora post when the mishap occurred. A Quick Reaction Team (QRT) was immediately deployed to the accident site to carry out the rescue operation.
