Poonch :- A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) in the Army was found dead with a bullet wound in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch on Thursday. According to reports, jawans found Naib Subedar wounded in the border area of Mendhar sector and took him straight to the hospital immediately. Though they raced to the hospital, by the time medical staff attended to him, he was pronounced dead.
The Army has started an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of the JCO, where preliminary reports hint at suicide. The identity of the deceased officer has not been disclosed so far. The somber mood of the military installation in the sensitive border region casts a shadow on the authorities who are trying to piece together events leading to the death of the officer.
