Mahant Deependra Giri to Perform Chhari Pujan at Pahalgam on Thursday

As part of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, the traditional Chhari Pujan—ritual worship of the holy mace of Lord Shiva—will be performed tomorrow at Pahalgam, marking a key spiritual milestone in the annual pilgrimage.

Mahant Deependra Giri, the revered custodian of the Chhari Mubarak, said he will lead the pujan ceremony at 11 AM on Thursday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Vyas Purnima.

The ceremony will also include Bhoomi Pujan, Navgrah Pujan, and Dhawajarohan (flag hoisting)—rituals that symbolically mark the formal beginning of the pilgrimage associated with the sacred mace of Swami Amarnath Ji.

These traditional observances are deeply rooted in the spiritual heritage of the Amarnath Yatra and signal the commencement of the Chhari Mubarak’s journey to the holy cave shrine.
