Varanasi Movie sets the stage for Mahesh Babu’s mega release

The upcoming movie project Varanasi will be the first collaboration among the top actor Mahesh babu and director SS Rajamouli. The concept of the movie was unveiled at the Globe Trotter event in Hyderabad on November 15.

Varanasi movie gave a powerful glimpse of the Hindu mythology along with visual effects raising the expectation of the viewers. Mahes Babu stars as Rudhra alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the role of Mandakini and other actors also marking their presence.

The teaser of the movie showed Mahesh Baby riding a white bull with a trident-wielding stance giving the grandeur spectacle a mythological overtones and wild terrain from jungle to ancient towns and cities.

SS Rajamouli has confirmed that the movie is based on Hindu epic Ramayana and stated that the sequence of the movie that was showcased at Globe Trotter took 60 days to complete. He said that rigorous execution and planning went for the scene to complete.

It has been learnt that Varanasi movie will be completed at a cost of whopping Rs 1000 crore bringing it in the league of some of the costliest movies of the country. The movie will be released in IMAX and dubbed in multiple languages including Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.

While no specific release date has been given for Varanasi, the movie is expected to be completed by June 2027 and will be released thereafter. Priyanka Chopra is also camping in India for the movie while Mahesh Babu has given the dates for the projects. With the scale and minds behind the Varanasi movie, it is expected to be one of the biggest hits that the country has ever witnessed.
