Heavy demand prompts extension of special reserved train on Delhi–Katra route

Keeping in view the heavy passenger demand and convenience of travelers, Northern Railway, Jammu Division, has decided to extend the period of operation of Special Reserved Train No. 04081/04082. This decision has been taken to manage passenger rush during the peak season and to provide a convenient travel option to passengers.

The details of the extended train services are as under:

Train No. 04081 – New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (2 trips)

Earlier scheduled period: 27 December to 04 January 2026

Extended period: 09 January and 10 January 2026 (only two trips)

Train No. 04082 – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi (2 trips)

Earlier scheduled period: 28 December to 05 January 2026

Extended period: 10 January and 11 January 2026 (only two trips)

Regarding the extension of the operation period of this special reserved train, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Shri Uchit Singhal, stated that “the operation period of this special reserved train has once again been extended, as its earlier operations were also successful. This train has proved to be a cost-effective option for passengers. During previous trips, the occupancy of this train was nearly 100 percent. The timing of this train is also convenient for passengers. Passengers are requested to check the train schedule on Dial 139 and NTES before commencing their journey.”
