Bhaderwah winter festival to showcase region’s culture

Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, today briefed media persons about the Bhaderwah Winter Festival, scheduled for 17 & 18 January at Guldanda and New Bus Stand, Bhaderwah.

The festival aims to promote winter tourism, celebrate local culture, and boost the regional economy by attracting tourists from across the country.

The press conference was also attended by Sanjeev Sharma, CEO, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), who shared details about event planning, preparations, and the Winter Carnival schedule.

The Tourism Department is organizing the festival as a mega event with vibrant cultural programmes, including a special performance by renowned singer G Khan, alongside opportunities for local artists and folk performers to showcase their talent.

The DC highlighted that road maintenance works to Bhaderwah and nearby tourist destinations are underway on priority, with comprehensive security arrangements at all tourist and religious sites.

He also informed about Archaeology Department funding for renovation of ancient religious structures, a passport registration camp (Jan 20–22, 2026) at DC Office Doda, and upcoming plans for a rafting competition, strengthening Bhaderwah’s image as a year-round tourism destination.
