Taking into account passenger volume and convenience requirements, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to extend the operational period of the special reserved train, No. 04081/04082. This decision has been taken in view of the massive crowds of devotees expected to throng for the Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri. This significant decision will ensure that the journey for devotees remains smooth and stress-free.
The details of the extended train services are: Train Number 04081: New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (14 Trips), Previously Scheduled Period: February 21 to March 8, 2026, Extended Period: March 17 to March 30, 2026 (14 Trips only).

Regarding the extended operational period of the special train, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, stated, “The Railways has always been sensitive to the convenience of passengers and their growing demands. The decision to extend the operation of Train No. 04081/04082 (New Delhi-Katra Special) has been taken in light of its immense popularity among passengers and the 100% occupancy recorded during previous trips.
Furthermore, this will be of special benefit to tourists and devotees visiting for the Darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi—as well as those touring Kashmir—during the upcoming Chaitra Navratri. This initiative will effectively address the demand for ticket availability among passengers.” Passengers are requested to kindly verify the train’s timetable via Dial 139 or NTES before commencing their journey, he added.
