As part of sustained action against the terror ecosystem, Police in Sopore attached the immovable property of an absconding accused in connection with an E&IMCO case registered at Police Station Panzalla.
The attached property comprises land measuring 1 Kanal 12.5 Marlas under Survey Nos. 15 min and 17 min, situated at village Fidarpora, recorded in the name of Khurshid Ahmad Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar resident of Fidarpora, Police said in a statement today.
The accused has been evading legal proceedings and is wanted in FIR No. 02/2008 under Sections 2/3 of the E&IMCO Act registered at Police Station Panzalla. As per investigation, he is currently based in PoK and is involved in anti-national activities, including extending support to terrorist elements in the Kashmir Valley, Police said.
Following due legal process, proclamation proceedings under Section 87 CrPC were initiated, and the accused was declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Court. Subsequently, in compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble Court, attachment proceedings under Section 88 CrPC were executed.
The attachment was carried out in the presence of officials from the Revenue Department and independent witnesses, and all codal formalities were duly observed. Attachment notices were served and affixed at the site.
This action forms part of the continued efforts of J&K Police to enforce the rule of law against absconding accused involved in activities prejudicial to the security and integrity of the nation.
