A dental check-up and awareness camp was organised today by the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Jammu, at the Shelter Home for Urban Homeless People, Kalika Colony, Bahu Fort, Jammu, in collaboration with NGO Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra. The initiative aimed to promote oral hygiene and provide basic dental care to the residents of the shelter home.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of Incharge Ms. Veena Bakshi and Manager Mr. Aditya Dutta, with active support from staff members Ms. Rajni Devi, Ms. Meenakshi Devi, and Mr. Vijay Kumar.
Dental specialists Dr. Umang Jamwal President IDA, and Dr. Kunal Vuthoo, President elect for 2027, examined a total of 25 inmates and provided necessary consultation. Free toothpastes and essential medicines were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
The camp received a positive response and highlighted the importance of regular dental check-ups and awareness, especially among underserved sections of society.
