Demand for more train halts, better facilities raised at Jammu DRUCC meeting
To improve passenger amenities and expand rail services, an important meeting was organized today, 10 June, in the Conference Room of the Divisional Office in Jammu. This meeting was held between the Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu Division, Vivek Kumar along with other officers and members of the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee DRUCC.
In the meeting, respected DRUCC members – Rajinder Kumar, Mohammad Abdullah, Rajinder Kumar other member and Dr. Sukrit Sagar actively participated and raised passenger issues prominently.
The following points were mainly discussed in the meeting. Strengthening cleanliness, drinking water and seating arrangements at railway stations.
Discussion on the demand for halts of existing trains and increase in frequency of trains in Jammu Division.
Strict security arrangements for passengers, especially women, at stations and in trains.
Review of modernization and development works at Jammu Railway Station.
During the meeting, the Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu listened carefully to all the issues raised by the members. He assured that all necessary steps would be taken immediately for passenger convenience and their problems would be resolved at the earliest.
All members also assured the railway administration of their full cooperation and said that they will work shoulder to shoulder with the administration to provide better facilities to passengers.
