Vice President accorded warm welcome at Leh airport

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, on his first official visit to Ladakh on Friday.

During the visit, Vice President will participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations in Leh on 21 June.

After reaching Leh, the Vice President wrote on X; “Delighted to arrive in Ladakh today and be accorded a warm welcome at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, on my first official visit to Ladakh”.

“Was received at the airport by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena Ji, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon Ji, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Ladakh Shri Mohmad Haneefa Ji and dignitaries”.

“Thanks for the warm welcome. During the visit, I will participate in the International Day of Yoga celebrations in Leh on 21 June”, he wrote.

Lt. Governor Saxena also wrote on X; “It is an honour and a pleasure to welcome Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan ji, to Ladakh on his first visit to this beautiful land”.

“Hon’ble VP’s presence ahead of the International Day of Yoga 2026, is truly inspiring. As we gear up to celebrate the timeless wisdom of yoga, his guidance, vision and leadership will motivate us to embrace a healthier, more balanced and harmonious way of life”, the LG added.
