Newly constructed two platforms opened for passengers at Jammu railway station

With the objective of passenger convenience and to facilitate the increasing rail traffic at Jammu Tawi Station, Northern Railway, Jammu Division has opened the newly constructed Platform No. 6 & 7 for the operation of all trains under the station redevelopment work, officials said on Wednesday.

Along with this, Platform No. 4 & 5 have also been made fully operational. As a result, Train No. 12413 was received at the newly built Platform No. 6. Special enthusiasm was witnessed among passengers at the station on this occasion.

With the commissioning of Platforms 6 and 7, the capacity for simultaneous halting and operation of more trains at Jammu Tawi Station has increased. This will make train movement smoother, reduce halting time, and provide relief to passengers from overcrowding. With Platforms 4 and 5 also becoming operational again, a total of 7 platforms are now active at the station.

The opening of the new platforms will provide better facilities to passengers traveling to and from Jammu & Kashmir and will strengthen regional connectivity. Jammu Division requests passengers to check train schedules and platform information from station announcements and display boards.

The Railway administration has appealed to passengers to use the Foot Over Bridges and signage built to access the new platforms and to follow the instructions of railway staff.
