Caches of ammunition seized during search operations in Surankot, Sopore

The Indian Army recovered caches of ammunition and shells during search operations today in the Surankot sector of Poonch and Sopore.

During a search operation at Bhoriwala Dhok, adjoining Village Hari, Surankot, the following  ammunition was recovered by SOG and 37 RR:

AK-47 rounds – 117, Pistol rounds 9mm – 17 and AK-47 magazines – 2

A speculative CASO at Ghat Ningli and Sheer Colony, Sopore, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Tarzoo, was launched jointly by SOG Sopore, 177 Bn CRPF, and 52 RR (Army).

During the search operation, 45 shells were recovered from the residential house of Shahbaz Aziz Dar S/o Abdul Aziz Dar, R/o Sheer Colony, Sopore, sources said.
