Three drug peddlers arrested in Jammu’s Chhani locality

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu campaign, Jammu Police achieved another significant success by arresting three accused persons and recovering heroin along with other incriminating material, Police said today.

On 27-07-2026 at about 1840 hours, during routine traffic naka checking, a Mahindra Thar bearing registration No. JK02CH5936 was intercepted for checking. During the search, police recovered two syringes, including one filled with suspected narcotic substance and one empty syringe.

On the personal search of the driver, Mohd Tabish Saleem S/o Mohd Saleem R/o Mendhar, approximately 6 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered. During the search of the co-passenger, Mohd Irfan S/o Dulla R/o Raika, Bahu Fort, another 6 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession, Police disclosed.

Accordingly, FIR No. 218/2026 was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, and investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation and while developing the backward linkage of the case, police identified and arrested another accused, Aijaz Choudhary alias Ajju S/o Fateh Din R/o Channi Rama. During his search, police recovered two electronic weighing machines, six mobile phones, cash amounting to ₹28,000, and one syringe, all of which have been seized as part of the investigation.

The investigation is progressing to identify the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network and to trace other persons involved in the illicit trade.
