Two killed, five injured as matador overturns in Reasi district

Two persons were killed and five others injuried when a minibus they were travelling in overturned near the Bakkal Tunnel in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Officials said that the minibus, which was on its way from Bakkal to Reasi, overturned near the tunnel this morning, leaving several passengers injured.

The killed persons have been identified as Paras Ram and Madan Lal.

Police, along with locals, immediately launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said one person died on the spot, while another critically injured passenger succumbed while being shifted to the hospital.

Two injured passengers were shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, for further treatment.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in a tragic road accident in Reasi district, in which two persons were killed and five others injured.

The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and directed the authorities to ensure the best possible medical care to those injured.
