A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Mohammad Faizan was among four heavily armed Pakistani terrorists killed in a powerful landmine blast while attempting to infiltrate into the Indian territory from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Ghati sector, near Nangi Tekri, in the Poonch district on Monday.

The landmines, planted as part of the anti-infiltration grid, exploded as the group attempted to cross the LoC, killing all four infiltrators on the spot. The other three terrorists were identified as Wakas, Ishtiaq and Asim.

The incident took place in Poonch district, where security forces have been maintaining heightened vigilance along the LoC to prevent infiltration attempts.

Reports said that at about 4:30 AM, terrorists attempted to infiltrate Indian territory by crossing the LoC from the Pakistan occupied J&K. Preliminary reports indicate that the terrorists with support of the Pakistan Army were attempting to plant an IED near the Indian border. During this attempt, they encountered the Indian Army’s anti-infiltration grid, resulting in the reported death of four terrorists.
