Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has begun a new chapter in his personal life, marrying journalist Nidhi Razdan in a private ceremony in Srinagar on Friday, with the couple announcing their marriage through social media posts on Saturday.

Omar shared a photograph with Nidhi on X with the caption, “A new journey began yesterday”, while Razdan announced the marriage on X with a brief but cheerful “It’s done bro” post, accompanied by a ring emoji. Their posts confirmed that the wedding took place on October 30.

According to media reports, the couple exchanged vows at a private ceremony in Srinagar on 30 October, followed by a reception in Delhi on Saturday.

Omar shared photographs with Razdan on X, writing, “A new journey began yesterday”, and tagging Razdan.

Razdan also shared a post on X, writing, “It’s done bro”, accompanied by a ring emoji and tagging Abdullah.

Neither has shared further details about the ceremony.

The development follows a period of public speculation about the two, including Razdan’s presence at Omar’s swearing-in ceremony as Chief Minister in October 2024 and their appearances together at public gatherings.

The marriage comes three months after the Supreme Court dissolved Omar’s marriage to Payal Abdullah by mutual consent, bringing an end to their long-running legal battle.
