The district administration of Kishtwar has brought to the light fake arms license renewals and ordered action into the same.
A public notice by the administration read, “It has come to the notice of this office that certain individuals are carrying out fraudulent activities by passing off fake stamps and forged signatures as genuine endorsements for arms licence renewals. These counterfeit documents are being passed around in an attempt to give the impression that arms licences have been manually renewed by this office”.
To get the word out, the District Information Officer, Kishtwar, is hereby directed to put out this notice across print, electronic, and social media platforms to ensure wide public awareness and to cut down on the spread of misinformation.
It further read, “Anyone found to be mixed up in the creation, distribution, or use of such forged or fake documents will be dealt with firmly and shall face up to strict legal consequences under the relevant provisions of law. We urge the public to watch out for such fraudulent practices and to report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities without delay”.
