Prime Minister Narendra Modi will tomorrow inaugurate the Shri Ram International Airport and the new building of the Ayodhya railway station. This comes ahead of the grand ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration ceremony) of the idol of Lord Ram in the under-construction Ram temple on January 22.

The Ayodhya airport will be named as ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham’.

Civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said tomorrow will be a historic day for the country with the inauguration of the Ayodhya airport, which will be expanded hugely in the second phase by augmenting overall area and increasing the runway length. The Ayodhya airport is built over an area of 6,500 square metres.

Designed with a Shikhar dome and bow and arrow peculiar to Lord Ram, the new railway station in Ayodhya, which is set to be inaugurated tomorrow, has all the trappings of a temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the redeveloped Ayodhya Junction station during his visit to the holy city.

Ayodhya railway junction has been renamed as Ayodhya Dham junction.

The new building stands next to the old station building.

Ayodhya district has two main railway stations — Ayodhya Junction located in Ayodhya City and Ayodhya Cantt (earlier Faizabad Junction) in Faizabad City.
