All Admn Secys, DCs asked to submit weekly reports on public grievance redressal

Administration has asked and directed all the Administrative Secretaries and deputy commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir for submitting weekly appraisal of public interactions and the grievances redressed by them during fixed daily hearings.

A detailed report of their daily public interactions and complaints solved by them shall be provided to General Administration Department (GAD) on every Friday for appraisal of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

It is pertinent to mention that on June 2 this year, the government had instructed all administrative secretaries to fix time slots on daily basis for meeting general public/delegations/ public representatives for hearing their grievances.

Deputy Commissioners in the Union Territory of J&K have been asked to remain available in their offices between 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm every day except on tour days for meeting general public/delegations for redressal of their grievances.

The report shall be in the prescribed format where the DCs were asked to specify the name of the district; week and month; number of public hearings conducted; number of persons or delegations met and finally the number of grievances redressed.

Further, the Deputy Commissioners have been ordered to immediately revive the practice of organizing Block Diwas following COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and with due regard to other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place on account of pandemic.
