Even as the administration is working to provide relief to the victims of Pakistani shelling in Poonch and other areas, the University of Jammu seems to be in a hurry to make the educational institution functional.
It has been learnt that a senior official of the varsity has stated that the University will remain functional on May 9 despite the fact that the situation between India and Pakistan is still tense.
Insiders said that the Registrar has told all the concerned that the University of Jammu will remain functional on Friday.
Divisional Commissioner of Jammu on Thursday ordered, “In view of the prevailing situation all Schools, Colleges and educational institutions (private as well as Government) in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch shall remain closed tomorrow on 9th May as well”.
