Amarnath pilgrims prefer longer Pahalgam route

As many as 4822 pilgrims left for Amarnath Yatra from Jammu in 259 vehicles today. 

2510 of them left for Pahalgam Yatra axis in 112 vehicles.

2312 left for Baltal Yatra axis in 147 vehicles.

The pilgrims were given a warm reception by the district administrations at Udhampur and Ramban.

District Administration Ramban, led by Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, accorded a warm welcome to the first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 pilgrims at Chanderkote with garlands and showering flower petals as a mark of respect and hospitality.

On the occasion, DIG DKR Sargun Shukla, SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hameed, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, ACD Sheraz Ahmed, and other senior officers also welcomed the devotees.

Prominent citizens, religious leaders, and members of the civil society  also joined the reception, extending a heartfelt welcome to the pilgrims and wishing them a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
