Amit Shah meets family of cop shot dead, gives govt job to his wife

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and met today the family of Kashmir Police inspector Parvez Ahmad who was shot dead by terrorist in June.

Shah was along with lieutenant governor of J&K Manoj Sinha, Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh and J-K Police Dilbag Singh along with other officials.

Ahmad was shot dead by terrorists near his house in Nowgam when he was returning home after offering evening prayers on June 22. The police officer is survived by his wife, a 13-year-old daughter, and a 10-year-old son.

Shah tweeted that he paid tributes to martyred Parvez Ahmad and whole country and he is proud of his bravery. Shah further added that Ahmad’s wife has been provided with a government job.

After the abrogation of article 370, this the first visit of Shah to UT. The Union home minister landed in the valley on Saturday and was received at the Srinagar airport by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha along with other senior officials.
