Amit Shah reviews J&K’s security, appreciates LG’s administration for overall development of UT

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Union Home Minister on Saturday said that security forces had been able to achieve decisive control over terrorism in the Union Territory.

Amit Shah said that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have played a crucial role in maintaining internal security in the Northeast, J&K and the naxal-affected areas and expressed hope that CRPF won’t be required in these areas in the coming years.

He further said that J&K government has managed to attract over Rs 33,000 crore investment while democracy has been taken to the grassroots level in the UT. “Today, democracy is flourishing across J&K as we have a sarpanch and panchs in every village”. He also praised the J&K lieutenant governor’s administration for all-round development in the UT.


As per reports, the Home Minister also conducted a security review of Jammu and Kashmir with heads of paramilitary forces, Police, and security agencies in Jammu, with the focus on taking the fight to the militants on both sides of Pir Panjal. He also mentioned about the 21 hydel projects and massive road infrastructure that came up under LG’s administration and further said that this happened for the first time in J&K and added that administration has also initiated a crusade against corruption in J&K.
