Army foils infiltration bid of terrorists in Sunderbani Sector; China, Turkey made pistols recovered from trans-border module

Alert troops of the Indian Army on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid of Pakistani terrorists in the Nathua Tibba area of Sunderbani in the Rajouri district along the Line of Control.

In another incident, the Army and J&K Police in a joint operation busted a trans-border  weapon racket and recovered China and Turkey made pistols and ammunition.

The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army said that based on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, suspicious movement of terrorists was detected in the general area of Nathua Tibba, along the LoC during the early hours of 19 February. Alert troops of the White Knight Corps responded with swift and calibrated fire, successfully foiling the infiltration attempt.

“Own troops are suitably repositioned and re-oriented to ensure comprehensive domination of the area through integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A high state of operational alert continues to be maintained across the sector”, the White Knight Corps added.

In another incident troops of the White Knight Corps and J&K Police in a joint operation busted a terror module and recovered arms and ammunition at Nowshera in Rajouri.

One person identified as Sachin @Pamma has been arrested.

The operation reflects seamless coordination and actionable intelligence leading to a decisive outcome.

During the operation, security forces recovered a TISAS Zigna (Turkey made) 9 mm pistol and TT-30 Norinco (China made) pistol. Two extended 50-round Zigna magazines, two standard pistol magazines and 15x9mm live rounds were also recovered.

Preliminary investigation indicates the individual was in direct contact with Pakistan-based terrorists and smugglers and was operating a trans-border, inter-state weapons racket.

With this arrest, Intelligence Agencies, JKP and Romeo Force have effectively busted and thwarted the nefarious designs aimed at destabilizing the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu & Kashmir, the White Knight Corps added.
