JAMMU : Twelve-year-old Ayaan Sajad from Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district and Risheek Kumar from Samba district were among 17 students, who were awarded the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024 by President Droupadi Murmu for his extraordinary accomplishments in the fields of art and culture.
However, Risheek Kumar from Samba also brings laurels by receiving Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from President Droupadi Murmu for his pioneering work in cyber security.Ayaan has been captivating audiences with his exceptional talent. His work reflects not only his individual brilliance but also the vibrant cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. The award ceremony, held in New Delhi, was a proud moment for Ayaan and Risheek, their families and the people of Jammu and Kashmir. In the presence of distinguished dignitaries and fellow awardees, Ayaan and Risheek received the honour from the President of India, who praised the young achievers for their contribution to the nation’s progress.The 12-year-old singer Ayaan has already become an Internet sensation after his Kashmiri songs went viral on social media gaining him millions of views.
His songs continue to trend in the valley.He became an internet sensation with his rendition of the Kashmiri song “Be Dard Dadi Chane,” which garnered millions of views on social media platforms. Ayaan’s musical journey began with performances at family functions and local events, where his talent was noticed by RJ Umar Nisar.
Nisar provided him with a platform to showcase his abilities, leading to the production of “Be Dard Dadi Chane,” a fusion of Sufi themes and pop-rap elements. The song, produced under Mashq Talks – Music, features Ayaan alongside Afnan Gull and Khalid Muntazir. In recognition of his exceptional talent and contributions to art and culture, Ayaan was honored with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on December 26, 2024.This award, presented by President Droupadi Murmu, acknowledges his efforts in promoting Kashmiri music and inspiring young people to connect with their cultural roots.
