Ban toll encounter: Four terrorists infiltrated from Samba, killed in Nagrota

Security forces including army and police eliminated four Pakistani terrorists near Ban Toll plaza in Nagrota of Jammu early on Thursday. As per the information, army had prior information about the movement of terrorists.

The ultras who might have sneaked into this side of border from International Border in Jammu were sitting in a truck when they were intercepted. After the truck was stopped, firing from both sides did not allow the ultras to retaliate much as a result there was no casualty on the other side.

Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said, “Four terrorists of JeM terror outfit have been killed at Ban toll plaza on Jammu –Srinagar Highway near Nagrota. They infiltrated from Samba Sector. The terrorists lobbed a grenade on security forces during checking.”

As per reports two Special Operation Group (SOG) men were injured after one of the terrorists lobbed grenade at the security forces. The gunfight started around at around 5 am also led to the closure of Jammu-Srinagar highway.

The Army also joined the operation. In the initial phase of the gunfight, they said, two SOG personnel were injured who were later hospitalized. 

The injured have been identified as Kuldeep Raj (32) of Akhnoor and Mohammad Ishaq Malik (40) of Neel Qasim Banihal Ramban. Both have been admitted to GMC Jammu with injuries on neck and their condition is said to be stable.  It has been learnt that due to the strict vigil by army along Line of Control (LoC) the terrorists were now trying to infiltrate from the IB in Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu. There have been many operations in the recent past where Pakistani terrorists were shot dead while trying to infiltrate from LoC.
