BJP’s growing prominence in J&K highlighted at India economic conclave

Jammu :- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh delivered a powerful message about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) evolving political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir during the “India Economic Conclave” organized by Times Now at Bharat Mandapam. Speaking candidly, he revealed that despite not forming the government, the BJP secured a higher vote share than the ruling National Conference in the recent Legislative Assembly elections, attributing this to narrow constituency losses and increasing support from the Muslim-majority Kashmir Valley.

The Union Minister challenged the Congress party’s narrative about the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, drawing parallels with similar political strategies in the Northeast. He passionately asserted that the people of J&K now recognize the BJP as the sole party capable of delivering justice to all. Reflecting on the party’s transformation, Dr. Singh reminisced about times when the BJP’s name was considered taboo in the Valley, contrasting it with the current scenario where election campaigns have become as vibrant as in any other part of India.

Expanding on the Conclave’s central theme of the “Indian Economy,” Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the critical importance of adopting global strategies to realize India’s economic vision for 2047. He identified underexploited Space, Marine, and Himalayan resources as potential game-changers, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership for significant advancements across these sectors.

Highlighting India’s remarkable progress in space exploration, Dr. Singh revealed that the country now contributes 8-9% to the global space economy, with projections indicating a threefold economic expansion in the coming decade. He proudly proclaimed that since 2014, India has launched over 432 satellites, with 397 launched under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. The minister also shared ambitious plans for establishing India’s own space station by 2035, positioning the nation as a formidable player in the global space economy.

Addressing the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Singh described the BJP’s recent electoral performance as a testament to its growing acceptance among the local population. He pointed to the return of normalcy in the region, evidenced by an unprecedented influx of over two crore tourists to the Kashmir Valley, symbolizing a significant transformation in the region’s socio-political dynamics.

The minister’s comprehensive address not only shed light on the BJP’s political journey in Jammu and Kashmir but also painted an optimistic picture of India’s economic and technological potential under the current national leadership.
