Doda and Kishtwar area have witnessed a heavy snowfall alongwith rainfall in recent times. This has resulted in many far flung villages being cut off due to snow accumulation and Avalanches, which causes heavy landslides and creates high risks to the road commuters.
With an aim to ensure connectivity & safety for the residents, assisting the district administration on Tourism and supporting the Livelihood of the inhabitants.
Project Sampark of BRO through its 35 BRTF n 118 RCC sprung into action by deploying all the machinery, resources and manpower to undertake the time critical task of Snow clearance and provide safe passage to the commuters.
Advanced machinaries and equipments have been deployed to clear any avalanche and landslides occuring in the Kishtwar region. Timely snow clearance and road connectivity is ensured to assist the resident population in this adverse climatic condition. BRO has roped in additional resources in the sector to improve and maintain its aim to providing 24×7 connectivity and safe passage to the residents and road users.
The snow clearance activities was taken even in night time to rescue the tourists/ inhabitants stuck in the higher reaches due to Snow/ landslides. It has been of utmost importance for BRO to ensure that entire road stretches are kept open to handle any unforeseen situation in a time bound manner.
