Jammu : Alert Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers effectively thwarted an infiltration bid along the International Border (IB) at Pathankot. The operation was during pre-dawn hours when soldiers deployed at Border Outpost Tashpatan noticed suspicious activity on the other side of the border.
BSF personnel noticed a person crossing the International Border illegally and immediately threw challenges, which were ignored by the intruder as he kept moving forward. Feeling a possible security threat, the alert BSF troops had no choice but to neutralize the intruder.
The authorities are trying to identify the infiltrator and reasons behind this at present. Authorities have said that they will lodge a formal protest with Pakistan Rangers on the incident. The operation is also evidence of the constant vigil by BSF towards maintaining border safety and preventing incursions into Indian shores.
