The annual Baba Buddha Amarnath Yatra will begin on July 29 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, according to an official. He said that security is in place to ensure that Yatra runs without a hitch.

An official said that this year’s Buddha Amarnath Yatra, which was postponed for two years owing to the Covid outbreak, will begin on July 29. He said that they have boosted up their preparations to easily manage the yatra and all plans have been finished to welcome the pilgrims.

Senior Superintendent of Police for Poonch, Rohit Baskotra, stated that security grid is boosted and they are timely monitoring the situation in coordination with other sister agencies concerned.  The group of pilgrims will go towards the temple from Yatri Niwas in Jammu.

In light of the forthcoming Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra, a high-level joint security assessment conference was convened in Rajouri on July 14. Baba Buddha Amarnath, which is 290 kilometres from Jammu in the Poonch district and is situated 4600 feet above sea level by the river Pulasti, is surrounded by the Loran valley. According to popular opinion, visiting Baba Buddha Amarnath is considered a necessary part of the Baba Amarnath yatra.

According to a representative, the brass of the security forces, civil administration from Rajouri and Poonch attended the conference. Security measures for the impending Yatra were reviewed, and groups of pilgrims from all over the nation are anticipated to arrive in Rajouri-Poonch to pay respects at the Baba Budha Amarnath shrine, the official added.
