Jammu :- In an shocking accident on Saturday night when a pilgrim bus which was on its way from Katra to Delhi fell into a 25-30 feet deep gorge along the Manda Naka in Jammu district.
The bus, which had registration number UK 07 PA-5640, suffered the accident in the vicinity of Panthirthi area, police officials said.All 17 bus passengers survived the accident with either minor or no injuries. They have been taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment and are stated to be in stable condition. In the meantime, emergency responders are attempting to retrieve the body of the dead driver from the accident scene.
A joint rescue operation is underway with officials from Jammu Police, Traffic Department, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Fire and Emergency Services present at the spot. Senior police officials are personally keeping a watch on the situation at the spot of the accident. The reason behind the accident is yet to be identified.
