While the government hospitals are doing their best to vaccinate senior citizens above 60 years of age, the failure of administration has forced them to ask for help from Red Cross Society in Jammu.
It has been reliably learnt that the Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital has asked the Red Cross Society to put tents in the area where senior citizens have to wait for their turn of vaccination.

Trouble was reported from Gandhi Nagar hospital on Tuesday where some senior citizens protested against the hospital authorities after alleging that “VIPs were given priority in vaccination”. However most of the private hospitals have failed to start vaccination despite government’s orders.
While the government hospitals will provide vaccination free of cost, private hospital will charge Rs 250 per dose. “When private hospitals charge high fee for other treatments, they should also have provided Covid-19 vaccination free of cost” said Ramesh Sharma, a 62 year old who had gone for vaccination to a prominent hospital in Jammu.
Meanwhile sources in health department said that the Covid-19 funds that had been given to government hospitals have been exhausted due to which the authorities were asking NGOs for tents and sitting arrangement of people coming for vaccination.
