Chandeep Singh from J&K bags silver medal at World Para-Taekwondo Championship

Chandeep Singh from Jammu has written his name in the history by winning a Silver medal at World Para-Taekwondo Championship. Indian Para-Athlete Chandeep Singh grabbed a silver medal in Men’s plus 80 kg event at the 9th Para World Taekwondo Championships held at Istanbul, Turkey from 9th to 12th December 2021. The player did extremely well but lost in a close contest to a Russian opponent.

He has been receiving training from Atul Pangotra since past five years. Atul Pangotra said that Chandeep has become an inspiration for all the athletes of the country as he has achieved this height by his hard work.

As per reports, Jammu and Kashmir’s Taekwondo Association (JKTA) will be organizing a welcome function for Chandeep Singh. Officials of JKTA including DN Pangotra and SM Bali, senior vice-president congratulated Chandeep on his victory and wished him luck for future.

Chandeep has created history as he has become the first Para Athlete from the Union Territory of J&K to achieve such a success at the World level. 

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan has congratulated the International Para Taekwondo Athlete, Chandeep Singh who created history by claiming silver medal. Also Chandeep received wishes from Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul and has assured all logistic and possible support will be provided to him in his future.
