In the eastern Ladakh, it has come to the notice that Chinese Army had put up tents on the Indian side of the Charding Nala in Demchok. The officials described the people occupying these tents as ‘so-called civilians’ and said that though India has been asking them to go back but they are still there.

Moreover, till now there been no date fixed for the talks. China tried for the 12th Corps Commander-level talks but India asked for the discussions to be postponed by a few days since July 26 is seen as Kargil Day to honour the victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi recently tweeted “GOI is clueless on how to handle China. Ignoring their actions now will cause huge problems in the future”.

Demchok has earlier also seen clashes between Indian and Chinese troops and Demchok and Trig Heights were the conflict points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
