Cluster University Jammu has deferred all examinations that were supposed to be held next month.
The announcement by Cluster University Jammu to deffer the examination has come in the wake of ongoing situation due to the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country and even in Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the result of examinations are also awaited by the students. The result would have been out had the educational institutions been open.
The varsity authorities have issued a statement through a notification wherein it has been stated that the university examination have been deferred due to the spread of Coronavirus.
Cluster University of Jammu is also expected to announce the result of 1st semester 2019 batch that were held early this year. The results have so far not been declared due to the ongoing situation.
In a statement the cluster university said, “Keeping in view the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic, the terminal examination (PG 4th semester, UG/ UG Hon’s and integrated 6th Semester) which were scheduled to be held from July 1, 2020 of all the schools and constituent colleges of university are hereby deferred. Decision to this effect shall be notified later on”
It is important to note here that the Jammu cluster university has deferred the examinations that were to be held on July 1 until the present situation improves. Various examinations will be held once there is betterment in the situation that would be notified by the authorities at the varsity.
Deferred meaning
Some students had questions regarding the meaning of ‘deferred’ in the notification. We would like to clarify that the meaning of term deferred is postponed for the time being. The examinations of the Cluster University Jammu have been deferred for sometime and would be held once the situation improves. As per an official of the university, students will be informed about the new date sheet.
