The Cluster University of Srinagar has allegedly provided wrong marks certificates to those students who have completed their degree from the institution. There are allegations that the CUS has granted provisional certificates to the students who recently completed their graduation.
Other than showing incorrect grading for the students, officials are allowing students to make changes in the certificate if they want. Amar Singh College provided students provisional certificate which are full of irregularities.
According to the prescribed norms, students who scored 60 to 69 percent marks fall in B Plus grade while those who secured 70 to 79 percent fall in the A grade. A senior official in the CUS said that on the provisional certificates, those students who got seventy-nine percent marks are marked as B Plus Grade which is an injustice with the students and also shows the callousness of the authorities. Sources said that when students raised objections over incorrect certificates, Amar Singh College officials instructed them to make “corrections in their certificates if they feel like.”
Students are worried that it is not possible to make correction on mark sheets as it amounts to offence and their career can get ruined. Sources said that concerned authorities were also made aware of the issue but they didn’t take any action.
An official said that those who prepared the provisional certificates were involved in family issues during winters and so, couldn’t concentrate on their office work. The Amar Singh college authorities said that the administration is well-aware of the matter.
A senior official said that the staff was confused regarding grading and these confusions have been resolved. The institution has also issued fresh certificates to some such complainants and the issue has been resolved. He said that they have also students to contact the office of the Principal if they have any problem.
Many have also appealed to Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to personally look into the matter as the Cluster University of Srinagar continues to make headlines for totally wrong reasons since its establishment by the previous Peoples Democratic Party government.
