Jammu :- Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner, JMC today conducted the tour of Vasant Vihar Trikuta Nagar Ward No. 53 of Jammu city to took stock of the grievances of the residents of ward relating to sanitation as well as cleanliness of the nallahs. Duringthe tour, Commissioner directed Joint Commissioner (Works) to prepare estimatesfor repairing damaged lanes/drains. The Executive Engineer (Electric) was alsodirected to repair the non-functional streetlights and also to replace the non-repairable streetlights with the new ones on urgent basis.
The Commissioner, JMC also issued instructions to the Chief Transport Officer to de-silt the nallahs at the regular intervals to avoid accumulation of garbage and over flooding.The Commissioner further checked the attendance of the sanitation staff and tookfeedback from the public, who expressed satisfaction over the sanitation of the area.It also came to the notice that in some areas, door-to-door collection of garbage is not being done on regular basis.
The Joint Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) was directed to furnish the detail of wards where households are more than 400 for a single auto, so that the deficit areas are managed accordingly. Later on,Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive survey of thecity, covering Ward No. 6 Gujjar Nagar, Ward No.5 Peerkho and Ward No. 67,Muthi, for identification of vacant/barren lands for plantation/development of greenspaces under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
The Commissioner, JMC stated that the aim of conducting the tour in the wardis to redress the grievances of the residents on the urgent basis and assured themthat JMC shall continue its efforts to provide instant resolution of the grievances ofthe people of Jammu city.
