Consecration Ceremony of Newly Constructed Zimchung for H.E. Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay Held at Ladakh’s Lamayuru Monastery

A consecration ceremony of the newly constructed Zimchung for His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay was held at Lamayuru Monastery, organised by the Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association (NMWA), Lamayuru, Sham Ladakh.

The spiritually significant occasion witnessed a large gathering of monks, devotees, villagers, and dignitaries from across Ladakh. Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay was the Guest of Honor.

The ceremony commenced with the warm reception of all guests, followed by the formal consecration and inauguration of the newly built Zimchung by CEC Advocate Tashi Gyalson. Traditional khataks were offered by the President of Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association and Ex-Sarpanch of Lamayuru as a mark of traditional welcome and respect.

The programme began with a welcome address by Tsering Norboo, President of NMWA. This was followed by a spiritually enriching biography presentation on H.E. Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay by Acharya Rigzen Wangchuk. A series of traditional cultural performances were presented during the function.

The Amatsogspa group of Lamayuru presented the first item, followed by a vibrant folk presentation by the villagers of Achinathang. The students of Government Higher Secondary School, Lamayuru, added to the cultural spirit with a well-received performance showcasing Ladakhi tradition and youthful enthusiasm.

The monks of Lamayuru Gonpa led ceremonial prayers and offerings during the event. Dorjay Lhobon of Lamayuru Monastery also addressed the gathering with spiritual reflections. His Eminence Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpochay blessed the congregation with his address, which was followed by speeches from various dignitaries. The function also included the formal presentation of gifts and mementoes to all dignitaries, volunteers, and sponsors in recognition of their contributions.

In his keynote address, CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson congratulated everyone involved on the successful inauguration of the Zimchung. He acknowledged the hard work, coordination, and commitment of all stakeholders including local leaders, the monastic body, departments involved, and volunteers, whose collective efforts led to the completion of this sacred structure. He specifically appreciated the role of Councillor Lamayuru, Dr. Morup Dorjay, for his continued involvement and support.

The CEC assured that LAHDC Leh will continue to extend all possible support to such meaningful projects in the future that aim to preserve and promote Ladakh’s spiritual and cultural legacy. The event concluded on a high note with the traditional Tashispa folk dance performed by villagers of Lamayuru, joined in celebration by all dignitaries and attendees.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks and prayers for peace and well-being for all. A large number of prominent dignitaries and guests attended the ceremony, including Lamayuru Councillor Dr. Morup Dorjay; Khaltse Councillor Lobzang Sherab; Councillor Skurbuchan Lundup Dorjai, Councillor Chushul Konchok Stanzin; Nominated Councillor Phuntsog Nurboo; Nominated Councillor Ven.Konchok Tsepel; Khaltse SDM; Dorjay Lhobon, senior monk of Lamayuru Gonpa; Acharya Rigzen Wangchuk; Tsering Norboo, President of the Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association; the Vice President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA); the Secretary of the Ladakh Gonpa Association (LGA); the Ex-Sarpanch of Lamayuru; members of the Nimagungpa Mahayana Welfare Association (NMWA); senior monks of Lamayuru Gonpa; public representatives; teachers; students; and a large number of devotees from Lamayuru.
