Coronavirus update in Jammu and Kashmir is that the cases of the disease reached to 106 on Sunday.
After a spurt in the cases, the Jammu and Kashmir authorities have advised the general public to avoid unnecessary visit to hospitals in case anyone develops fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical advise promptly.
While the total number of active cases now was 100, sources say that the rise in the Corobavirus patients in J&K is due to the Tablighi Jamaat members who came in contact with people in the Union Territory. Total number of active Coronavirus cases in Kashmir is 82 whereas the same for Jammu region is 18.
Two deaths have also taken place due to Coronavirus in recent past.
As per official records, persons enlisted for observation in J&K has risen to 33503 whereas persons under house quarantine have increased to 10981. Persons kept under hospital quarantine are 619.
On 5566 persons, surveillance has been completed. Health authorities have collected a sample of 1551. 1429 samples have tested negative.
Health authorities of Jammu and Kashmir have announced that in case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services at their doorstep by calling on toll free number 108. Pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance service by calling on toll free number 102.
Other helpline numbers include national helpline – 1075. J&K COVID-19 helpline numbers are 01912549676, 0191-2520982, 01912674444.
The government has also advised that people must take basic precautions for proper hygiene, frequent hand washing with soap and water and observing coughing and sneezing etiquette. Public is also advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by government from time to time.
Despite working on war footing and issuing frequent Coronavirus update in Jammu and Kashmir government has not been able to control the rising cases of the disease due to the fact that people are often found flouting the norms of national lockdown. The Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi has become a major cause of COVID-19 cases in J&K.
