The Dean Students Welfare of University of Jammu has seized food items from the canteen of Directorate of Distance Education that was unfit for consumption.
According to sources, the food was of poor quality, with some food items blackened due to fungus and emitting an unpleasant smell.
The action was taken following concerns over food safety and hygiene, and the seized items were removed to prevent their consumption by students.
University staff appreciated the action by the administration against the erring canteen.
