DA of central government employees increased from 17 to 28 percent

The Dearness Allowance (DA) of central government employees has been increased from present 17 percent to 28 percent today in a high level meeting.

The DA of and Dearness Relief (DR) for around 52 lakh central government employees and 60 lakh central government pensioners will be resumed.

The decision to release the DA to central government employees in three installments was taken during a high level meeting in New Delhi. The DA will be resumed and released under the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission.

Dearness allowance is revised two times in a year, once in January and then in July. Since 2020, three increments are due as of now, as the July 2021 increment has not yet been announced. Four increments were done that took the present DA from 17 per cent to 28 percent.
